I realised that this new project had a lot of potential to be the best designed steadicam yet. And if I was designing new parts for this I thought that I would make them as compatible as possible with other mainstream camera parts.
The two features that I always wanted to have was a quick mount plate and a cold shoe mount. These parts would allow me to take the camera in and out of the steadicam quickly and be able to mount microphones, lights or monitors in the cold shoe. So I looked to eBay and Amazon for these parts.

I ended up ordering the parts pictured above from Amazon UK. You could also buy them from eBay but they would take over 40 days to come opposed to Amazon's 5 day delivery. Quick mount plate was 10.99 English Pounds and the cold shoe was 7.99
My reason for ordering this particular mount is because it is the exact same mount and plate system that is on my Manfrotto tripod and these are industry standard for mounting small to large video cameras. And my reason for ordering the cold shoe is because I need something very strong to hold the top-heavy type of accessories that go in the cold shoe mount.
