Some of the tools/hardware you will need are;
- 4x 3D printed base pieces (link to printable file: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2210489 )
- a drill with a 4mm, 5mm and 6mm bits (or Dremel)
- some sandpaper (may or may not be needed)
- m4 bolts, washers & nuts
- Sheet Metal/Acrylic Perspex
- a ruler/measuring tape
- a quick-release tripod mount or a tripod plate screw
- a piece of bike tube (optional)
- adhesive glue or tape (optional)
- hobby knife or scissors (optional)
1. Making the Base

Use two M4 nuts and bolts to join both pieces as pictured above. It is highly recommend to use washers if you can source them. Repeat this to make second base.
2. Making the plate
For this you can use either perspex or sheet metal or even thin wood! Cut 2 squares around 13cm x 13cm.
Then for the bolt holes make 4 marks, one at each corner around 11.5cm apart (these don't have to be perfect) Then drill a 5mm hole at each spot as pictured above.
Also drill a 6mm hole in the centre of the plate. You can also drill extra holes in the centre 3cm apart if you wanted.

For the second plate place the drilled plate on top of the un-drilled plate to use as a template to repeat the previous steps. If you don't have a drill don't worry, you could also use a Dremel and just bore out the holes until they are the right size.

3. Attaching the Plate to the Base Pieces
Slide the two pre-assembled base pieces into the pvc t-joints one of either the front or back end you made in Lesson One.

Then place your plate on top of the base pieces, line it up and use the plate again as a template to drill your holes through the base pieces. If you want to tighten it down now you can do so using M4 nuts and bolts. Again try to use washers!
4. (optional) rubberising a plate

I decided to rubberise one of the plates so the camera or quick release plate would not slip.
You can do this by cutting up a bike tube and attatching it to the plate using double-sided tape or whatever adhesive of your choice. Then cut the holes back out of the rubber using a hobby knife.
5. Mounting Options

If you have a quick release plate you can use one of the supplied mounting screws to attatch it to the plate. If you use the 1/3 inch mounting screw you will have to bore out one of your centre holes to 10mm

If you just have a tripod plate screw you dont need to do this. But a space may be need to take up the slack between the plate and the camera.
You should now have completed the second part of the build tutorial if you have got this far your the project should look something simular to the picture below. (minus the black paint and bolts)

the last part will be to bring it all together, I promise!
